Step inside and look around a replica of the Amsterdam which was an 18th-century cargo ship of the Dutch Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie, VOC (Dutch East India Company) which was established in 1602. This ship started its maiden voyage from Texel in The Netherlands to Batavia (Jakarta) in Indonesia on the 8th of January 1749, but got shipwrecked in a storm in the English Channel on the 26th of January 1749. This replica is currently docked at the shipping museum in Amsterdam.
